That said, the month-on-month drop in sales revenues was the slowest since March 2012, having eased for the third month in a row. Sales continued to fall sharply on an annual basis, however, and employment in the sector was cut for the fifteenth Retail PMI summary (June) month in succession. Eurozone 49.1 15-month high Germany 55.3 16-month high The Eurozone Retail PMI is a seasonally adjusted indicator of changes in the value of sales at France 48.9 12-month high retailers. Any figure greater than 50.0 signals Italy 40.7 2-month low growth compared with one month earlier. Eurozone retail sales vs. one year ago Commenting on the data, Trevor Balchin, senior economist at Markit and author of the Eurozone Retail PMI, said: “The latest batch of retail PMI data for the eurozone followed on from the encouraging picture for manufacturing and services provided by June’s Flash PMI.
