Annales de Géographie - Année 1984 - Volume 93 - Numéro 520 - Pages 687-703The activity relative to the congresses, conferences and symposiums of the large towns belonging to the occidental world, is growing in parallel to the progress of the simultaneous transmission means of the picture and the sound.
The international congresses market in the world is extremely competitive, it opposes North America and South East Asia to Europe, which latter defenitely outweighes.
Otherwise, it corresponds to a certain profile, combining the economical and technological reputation with the cultural prestige and the accomplishment of the residence.
At least, the congress building is one of the most outstanding tertiary equipements of the metropolis landscape, as many as it's own size and as the choice of it's place.
